Welcome back! And Traffic Exchange Live welcomed everyone back yesterday after the holiday rush with a bang or two or three, indeed. Things in there seemed busier and with more people and more active than ever yesterday, I could hardly keep up with my notes and stuff and probably missed a few names in the room here and there because of it. That’s great though, because TE Live just keeps growing and growing!

Jon said the other day that he couldn’t believe that (everyone who comes in regularly) comes back every single day just to watch them “be total buffoons for two hours”, LOL – but it’s much more than that. Traffic Exchange Live really IS the proverbial water cooler of TE Land, especially for those of us who don’t work away from home and are tied to our computer 24/7 (oh wait, that last part is maybe just me).

So there’s a LOT to cover from yesterday, so let’s get down to it…

Mega Manic Monday on Traffic Exchange Live:

  • Now that the holiday madness is over, Jon Olson, John Guanzon and Tim Linden were all in ‘da TE Live house today.
  • I missed part of this discussion, but it was about subscribing to the TE Live-associated blogs, and there was joking and conjecture about various ways they could do the subscriptions – i.e., if someone subscribed to Jon’s blog, they’d get a message from Tim: “What?! You’re subscribing to Jon’s blog but you’re not subscribing to my blog?” or “Don’t subscribe to his blog, subscribe to mine instead!” – that kinda thing.
  • Jon declared the new I Love Hits surfbar images a big flop as nobody’s bought them except for Tim. I ventured a theory that now that the holiday rush is over people might buy them. John said he was planning to reserve a week soon.
  • Jon showed off the shiny new pen he got for Christmas. He also showed off a new green pen he got that he stole from asked his insurance agent if he could have.
  • Jon said it was time for confessions of their New Year’s resolutions. Jon’s is to get I Love Hits back on track.
  • John’s New Year’s resolution is to build up Thumbvu.
  • Tim wasn’t listening to the question as his netbook’s power cord had died and he was trying to resolve that issue.
  • Upon hearing the question, Tim said his resolution was to get into a workout routine. He says this will help StartXChange as it will improve his energy level.
  • Much discussion of Tim’s proposed workout routine. As mentioned in a previous post, Tim has been watching the guys at LiveExercise.com work out on UStream and now he’s ordered their Bodylastics, which should arrive tomorrow (today).
  • John suggested that Tim work out on TE Live with his shirt off. Tim: “Yes, I would SO do that, Guanzon.”
  • Tim talked about how they show the guys working out with the Bodylastics hooked to the top of the door and pointed out the door behind him and said what if someone opened the door while you’re working out with that and that they’d be in a world of hurt.
  • More exercise talk. John and his wife usually go for a walk in the afternoons.
  • Jon had an AlertPay balance and needed to spend some money. Tim responded, “StartXChange.”
  • Jon bought credits at Top Flight Traffic, then went several other places and moaned because he already had credits everywhere.
  • Jon then said he was going to Hit Safari to see if he had credits. He did not, so he bought some.
  • Then Jon bought credits at Promo Lotto.
  • Everyone had a good Christmas. John got lots of gift cards. Jerry Iannucci got a hippotamus. :-)
  • Tim showed us his yellow handheld fan and played with it and made noises with it.
  • John:  “Tim finally has a fan.”
  • AlertPay went down. “Jon killed AlertPay.”
  • In light of the above, several (including me) requested that Jon stay away from PayPal today.
  • Daily greeting/singing to the EasyHits4U users.
  • An anonymous user wandered into the room and called Jon a fatass. Jon: “My ass IS fat. But I smell good.”
  • Jerry Iannucci showed us a survey he recently sent to his list with questions about TE usage. Jon filled it out live on cam.
  • Jon can spell.
  • Another anonymous user tried to spam the chat with links, which led to a Jon monologue on why spamming chat with links is bad. “People come in chat and throw up links – it doesn’t work.”
  • Jon got more fax spam, then noted it was a “personal invitation” from a local place for New Year’s, and was a bit put out about this place fax spamming people.
  • An anonymous user asked if one of them was the “guy with one eyeball thing” (referring to the StartXChange one-eyed hand splash page).
  • Jon pointed out that TE Live is almost two months old. Commentary of various flavors in the room, ranging from “It’s a baby” to “It’s a monster”.
  • A new visitor with a nickname (Spyderkate was the asker, I believe) asked what was the TE secret. Jon responded that there is no secret, then added that the secret is brand your name and build your list.
  • The I Hate Everything Guy, Prologue: I am not going to link this blog and am going to spend as little airtime on it as I can make myself, but it bears mentioning as we all spent about 30-45 minutes reading this blog and discussing various things about it. (Before I start, I also need to state that most of my views on all this coming up are my own personal thoughts and opinions and not necessarily shared by everyone else regularly involved with TE Live or anything associated with it.)
  • The I Hate Everything Guy, Part I: So, Walter Mulder found and told us about a blog he found that was created by TE user Jeric Lee (also known as “NeoJeric”), starting off with a post that began “I hate both (Tim Linden) and StartXChange”. The Cliffs Notes version is he hates Tim, StartXChange (though he apparently liked StartXChange two months ago), Affiliate Funnel, NMF, Clickbank Pirate, the Worldprofit people, the Maverick people, and apparently quite a large number of other online marketing entities/people. Typical statements include things like the “surfers at StartXChange worship it like it was a religion”.
  • The I Hate Everything Guy, Part II (Featuring MAJOR Faux Pas in Hater Blogging With Totally Incorrect Info): He also erroneously attributed TE List Building as being created by Affiliate Funnel (when unless you’ve been living under a rock in TE Land the last two months and don’t know, or can’t read as plain as day on the cover/splashes, that it was created by John Guanzon and Winter Perkins, neither of whom own any interest in Affiliate Funnel). He even said Affiliate Funnel “created TE List Building to promote themselves and further their profits”. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Helpful hint – It really might be a good idea to do some research first and make sure you’re posting correct information before hating on something on a public blog…?!?!?!)
  • The I Hate Everything Guy, Part III: Jon basically said whatever, and that Jeric should grow a set and come say all he’s had to say to their “faces” in TE Live or NMF or AF (agreed). Several of us noted that we had seen his pages around (including on StartXChange), thought we had seen him in AF conference at least once, and someone was pretty sure he had been in TE Live before as “NeoJeric”. Pretty much everyone in the room read a while, we all discussed a while (finding new things he hates the more we went on). He also has the habit of talking about himself in the third person regularly, so I’m thinking while he seems to have learned a lot about the right things to do (see next bullet), apparently no one has told him that speaking of yourself in the third person makes it realllllllly hard for anyone to take you seriously. Which is probably not a good M.O. if you’re aiming to make money by doing business and/or associating with people, online or off.
  • The I Hate Everything Guy, The Final Chapter: The most preposterous thing about the whole issue above is that the guy’s squeeze pages are good and he’s basically doing everything Affiliate Funnel teaches people (for free) to do, so whatever. (EDITOR’S NOTE: One more helpful hint – If you’re gonna write about it, expect to get called about it – and better yet, be a man and own up to it. If you’re gonna so blatantly outright trash people and their businesses – own it. You know where Jon and Tim are every weekday from 3-5pm EST.)
  • Okay, So I Lied – The I Hate Everything Guy, The Sequel: I was double checking a reference made to the above blog and discovered that in his post yesterday he praises EasyHits4U, and goes on to say it has “several things that are unique that none of the big names will ever think about”. Uh, hello…..?!?!!!! EasyHits4U is the biggest and most active exchange on the planet with (I would expect) the most members and regular highest ranking? Maybe you personally don’t know the owner’s name but… EasyHits4U is STILL the biggest and most active exchange on the planet with (I would expect) the most members and regular highest ranking! Duh.
  • For what it’s worth, this guy writes well (except for the writing in third person thing, ugh, and some optimization work needed and poor blogging use of color that Mike Paetzold pointed out last night at AF) and is basically a good blogger with a lot of potential, so it’s really kind of a shame he’s expending all that energy with all this negativity instead of spending it on something positive that will attract – instead of more likely repel – subscribers and followers.
  • (PS – Yeah, I’m a Southern chick, and yeah, we’re all sweet Southern belles dripping sugar until we see a wrong being done, and then the white lace gloves come off. Sorry. Again, this commentary was all mine and opinions expressed not necessarily shared by anyone else regularly associated with TE Live.)
  • Jon related a story about filmmaker Michael Moore sending one of his hater bloggers a check for a very large sum when the guy wasn’t able to pay for his blog/etc.
  • Jon’s Acer froze. (Again.)
  • John sneezed and Tim laughed, saying that was the funniest sneeze and that it sounded like a cartoon sneeze.
  • Jon showed us his tripod.
  • John talking about doing a forum activity to get behind the thought processes of why people think traffic exchanges don’t work.
  • Jon scratched his back with his tripod (see photo below). Says the tripod is an awesome back scratcher.
  • Cherrie Ryning said Jon needs a good-looking lady with long fingernails.
  • Ongoing SNL reference from John: “Wait, wait, wait… what if the tripod’s name was… Ditka?”
  • Tim yawned. Then John immediately yawned.
  • John asked Jon if it smelled like Up Dog over there. Jon refused to answer. (“What’s up dog?”)
  • Jon had to pull his magenta blinds back down as the sun was covering his eyes. Jerry Iannucci said the pink brings out Jon’s eyes.
  • Cat Heiter said if Jon would take his window measurements she would send him some new blinds. I pointed out to Cat that that would require work on Jon’s part. Cat told Jon she can’t fly up there and do it for him.
  • Jon knows he’s adorable. And he can dance and smells good too.
  • Tim’s Bodylastics order comes in tomorrow (today). I demanded a demo live on cam. Tim told me no. Then: “What am I saying? Probably.”
  • Tim was still playing with his yellow handheld fan, which he’d been playing with pretty much the whole time, and held it up to his face. John said it sounded like he was giving himself a root canal.
  • Winter Perkins went to see Avatar at the movies over the weekend and (much like Jon said last week) said it was awesome. Ian Bakewell and his lovelier half, Jenell Sale, were going to see it but it was sold out, but they’re going to see it soon. John’s wife got them tickets to see it.
  • And thus ended Monday’s edition of TE Live (and this loooooong post which has now taken me past my blog broadcast schedule again, so much for doing it the night before as my good intentions were last night, ahhhhhh!).
  • WINNERS: No giveways today. (PS – I want Jon to give away some I Love Hits or SWAT Traffic trivets so I can try to win one to put my coffee cup on. Pssssst hint hint!) :-)
  • I CALL YOU OUT, YOU GET LINKAGE (if I know your link): Safelist Marketing Tactics (Jerry Iannucci), Walter Mulder, Seamless Web Solutions (Winter Perkins), Cherrie Ryning, Cat Heiter, Easy Surf Exchange (Ian Bakewell), Jenell Sale, Mike Paetzold. (EDITOR’S NOTE: I link people that are there at TE Live and appear in the update itself, and occasionally those that are not there but are mentioned in the discussion and updates. Jeric Lee doesn’t get linkage ‘cos he wasn’t at TE Live. But I’d link him if he’d show up and talk about his dissatisfactions with – well, everything and everybody apparently – in person, instead of hiding behind blog posts about it.)
  • ALSO ON THE SCENE: Brenda Broyles, Edy Delarosa, Grebo, Marcy McManaway, Melody Smith, John Wagner, Brandon Hawthorn, Stephen Whittle, Wanda Robinson, Putra Razali, Pamela, Christina Mitchell, Jose Nunes, Charles Smith, Inga, James Vest, ntheblack, Kevin Bailey, Brian Rickert, James Holmes, Dorena Begonia – and of course, Jerry Iannucci, Winter Perkins, & Randy Ritter.
  • QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Jon killed AlertPay.” – (Everyone)

*** Traffic Exchange Live is on UStream every weekday afternoon 3-5 pm EST ***

So, Lynn M. Is Trying To Get Back In The Groove: Having a little trouble getting back into the ol’ routine post-holidays, but hopefully this will improve as the week progresses. I had a pretty good Christmas, though it started out very stressful and frantic, but overall it all turned out nicely, just didn’t get to spend as much time with my family as I would have liked. Though I’m VERY happy to report that my dog Daisy (who was a surprise guest) was a perfect angel and did beautifully on her first trip away from home. Hooray!

Lynn M.’s Traffic Tidbit of the Day: As I get re-focused and back in the groove, I’m still a little holiday shellshocked so to speak and can’t think of anything super duper to share today. However, I have noted, however (you probably have too) that all (or at least probably all) of the traffic exchanges that are participating in the Traffic Exchange Christmas promotion all have VERY nice credit deals going on during the promotion. Some of these you almost NEVER see these kinds of prices on credits, so grab ’em while the promotion is going on and before it’s too late!

Surf’s Up Site of the Day: Traffic Punk

Why: ‘Cos it’s one of the five TEs participating in the Traffic Exchange Christmas promotion today!

Hey, Check This Out: Not a new thing to this blog, but I haven’t separately posted about it in a while so yeah – TE List Building is still the bomb! Whether you’re new (especially if you’re new) or an established online marketer and TE user, you can’t get much easier than this simple step-by-step report that will show you exactly what you need to do and how to do it when trying to build (or further grow) your list using traffic exchanges. For those that don’t know the story, this report was created by John Guanzon and Winter Perkins in the early days of TE Live when they kept hearing the same questions from people about TEs and list building over and over again, so they created TE List Building to easily and efficiently address those questions.

The download also features some super special extras in the form of hints, tips and secrets from the “three wise men” (LOL, Christmas humor) of traffic exchanges – Paul Kinder, Tim Linden, and Jon Olson. And if you take the upgrade offer, you can rebrand it for yourself and benefit from the true value in list building through TEs. If you’ve not done it before, check out TE List Building today!

Sorry for the delayed release in today’s update, struggling to get back in the post-holiday groove (and had hoped to get this posted BEFORE today’s TE Live show was over, but didn’t) but I’ll do better with tomorrow’s update!

I may have to miss TE Live on Wednesday as I have a family member coming into town, but I’m not sure what the time frame is yet so will be playing Wednesday by ear. ’til then (or ’til Thursday), I am your Christmased-out TE Live gossip girl trying to get back in the post-holiday swing of things… :-)

** (tongue in cheek sarcasm totally intended in the subject line of today’s post) :-)
