Any idiot can do what I do to make $ online. It's not rocket surgery, it's cake. Also, I like pie.

I don’t like Murphy.

You know, Murphy’s Law that says “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”.

Except it always seems that in my case, Murphy always feels compelled to smack me in the face with an extra shot of “just when you think it can’t get any worse, it will”.

Yeah, it’s one of those kinda weeks, definitely.

Something for me that actually IS going right and not fifty one thousand ways of wrong at present is being an upgraded member of Get Referrals Fast. Thanks to one of the (several) products within Get Referrals Fast that is only available  for upgraded members to use, as well as what’s available to free members also, I have put as many or more new subscribers on my list in just a few weeks than I think I have since the beginning of the year, total.

Get Referrals Fast is a pretty great program for free members, but this is why being an upgraded member is so much more valuable. (And it’s a reasonable upgrade – you can get it for as much or less than any traffic exchange upgrade.) I also love the fact that Mike and Jerry provide quality training for all members AND the public, every single week, for free.

I’m glad something in my life is working out and going well this week. Ugh.

P.S. Pssst, I know where there’s bunches more free stuff  to grab… the No Labor – Labor Day Holiday Giveaway has just opened today and is open through the entire month of September, so go download all the goodies you want!

(Apologies in advance to those who wind up here searching Google for John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men, or Robert Burns… and yes, I know it’s really “the best-laid schemes”.)  :-)

So the short version is I had other, bigger plans for the day today, but that all kinda got shot down by what has been a lousy, lousy weekend. Sometimes things just go that way.

Well, if nothing else, at least I’m honest about it. I’m human and definitely not superhuman. I may not make millions and millions of dollars online being honest, but I do okay, and I can pretty much promise you I’ll be the first one to tell you if something’s a waste of your time and not worth the trouble.

And the first to not be afraid to admit when I’m not operating at full speed, which definitely is so today, but I wanted to get out a little post today at least anyway before I give up on today and wait for tomorrow to surely be a better one!

This upcoming week/next week being a holiday week here in the U.S., I guess that made it an appealing time to schedule a lot of giveaways, because there are several opening up this week as well as one that just opened this past Friday.

These are cool because you can score a whole lot of free stuff – software, scripts, marketing e-books and reports, all kinds of things – and usually products with Master Resell Rights and giveaway rights, all in one place. I actually picked up some software last week I’d wanted before and forgotten about until I saw it on one of the giveaway lists.

So since I’ve got a burgeoning migraine coming on this morning, I’m just going to leave you with this and point you in the direction of the Labor Day JV Giveaway, which opened its doors this morning (Monday) at 9:00 am EST.

This one’s just open for two weeks, so go check it out and grab some cool – and free – stuff while you’re at it, and let me know if you pick up something you’re thrilled about – I might have overlooked it and need/want it too!

Surf’s Up Site of the Day:  Traffic Punk

Why: ‘Cos I haven’t seen a lot of TE mail come in this a.m. besides TTP‘s (which gets plugged here lots, so Traffic Punk gets the Surf’s Up for today. And Ryan’s giving away 13 big prizes to 13 random surfers who surf 375 pages today, so you know… go surf!

Do you have difficulty staying organized and managing your time efficiently? Over the last year, that’s probably the number one thing I’ve heard from other Internet marketers when they talk about what they struggle with the most.

Some of the marketers I know use various Google task and reminder apps to get things done on a daily basis. A few others are fans of mind-mapping software like FreeMind, especially when it comes to putting together projects and creating products.

Me, I’ve managed to get a grip on organization and getting my planned tasks done every day, and weekly, in one of the easiest and no-cost ways there is – a simple spreadsheet. I use the OpenOffice suite since I refuse to use Microsoft’s stuff anymore unless I have to, but you can easily do the same with an Excel spreadsheet. (I also use OpenOffice because I was one of the unlucky ones who paid for it before it became free barely a year later, but that’s neither here nor there.)

I just list everything I need to do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in my little spreadsheet – and when I say everything, I mean everything, including “surf ten sites at Sweeva” and “log into Tezak Traffic Power and assign list ads”, because otherwise I’m liable to get busy with something else and forget.

I even have an entry to remind me to attend TE Live – even though I probably at this point don’t really need a reminder for that – and on the weekly list, I have reminders to attend Affiliate Funnel, SWAT Captains, TTP, and List Building Conferences, when they’re in session. (Pity my spreadsheet doesn’t come with a built-in alarm too, especially on Saturday mornings, since I have a habit of sleeping through the Saturday AF conference.)

Naturally there are some more urgent and absolutely-must-do type tasks on the list too. In any case, every day, I usually have it opened up and minimized and just go through and check off one by one everything I get done.

I’ve found since I started using it, I actually do a lot better at getting everything, or almost everything, done every day – and, in fact, frequently finding many days that I’m pretty much caught up and mostly done for the day by late afternoon or early evening, and not always working practically around the clock with hardly a break like I once was. I still have a few things that need to be done during the evening (or at least first thing the next day if I don’t make it to them), but they take minimal time and can wait if they have to.

My pretty simplistic method is really keeping me on task, and I don’t feel quite so scattered and disorganized and consistently behind all the time like I once did. I’m still not really the most organized person in the world, and I have a habit sometimes of doing everything backwards – which probably drives some people crazy – but it’s been nice to feel somewhat caught up lately, and to have time for other things… which is good, because I’ve really got a lot going on in offline life too.

Anyway, that’s how I solved my organization and time management issues – simple, easy, and zero cost (if you don’t count the fact I paid for OpenOffice before it was free, anyway).

Do you have something you swear by that keeps you organized and on task? Feel free to leave a comment and tell me about it if so – I’m always open to suggestions, and certainly others struggling in the Internet marketing world with these issues would probably love to hear about some options that could help!
